Services Offered
We offer the following services through this website:
- Online Courses — Pre-recorded or structured self-study course materials for IB English A, IB English B, and Theory of Knowledge. Courses are accessible digitally upon purchase.
- Live Tutoring Sessions — One-to-one or small group tutoring sessions conducted online, covering IB English A, IB English B, and ToK. Sessions are delivered by qualified tutors via an agreed video platform.
We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any service or course content at any time. Where material changes affect a service you have already purchased, we will notify you by email.
Purchases and Payment
All prices displayed on the website are in the currency stated at checkout. Prices are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
Payment for courses is due in full at the time of purchase. Payment for tutoring sessions may be made either in advance (prepaid) or after the session has taken place, where that option is offered. The payment method selected at the time of booking governs the refund terms applicable to that session, as set out in Section 4.
We reserve the right to amend our pricing at any time. The price applicable to your order is the price confirmed to you at the time of checkout. Payments are processed securely through our payment provider, and we do not store payment card details.
Refund and Cancellation Policy
Our refund and cancellation terms differ depending on the type of service purchased. Please review the applicable policy below carefully before completing your purchase or booking.
Online Courses
A full refund is available within 14 calendar days of the date of purchase, provided that you have not accessed or used any part of the course content. Once any course material has been accessed, opened, or downloaded, the right to a refund is forfeited, regardless of how much of the course has been completed.
Tutoring Sessions
Refund eligibility depends on when you paid and whether you cancel within the required window. See the full details below.

Refunds, where applicable, will be returned to the original payment method within a reasonable timeframe, typically 5–10 business days depending on your bank or payment provider.
Rescheduling of Tutoring Sessions
If you need to reschedule a tutoring session rather than cancel it, please contact us by email at tutor@ibenglishlanglit.com as early as possible. Rescheduling is subject to tutor availability and is not guaranteed. Rescheduling requests made less than one hour before the scheduled session start time may be treated as a late cancellation and may not be eligible for a refund if prepaid.
Technical Issues
We take reasonable steps to ensure that our online platform, course materials, and tutoring infrastructure are reliable and accessible. However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access at all times.
Where a technical failure is demonstrably attributable to our systems and materially prevents you from accessing a service you have paid for, we will work with you to find a fair resolution, which may include rescheduling a session or extending course access. We are not liable for technical issues arising from your own device, internet connection, browser, or third-party software.
Intellectual Property
All course content, materials, lesson plans, worksheets, recordings, and resources made available through this website are the intellectual property of IB English Lang & Lit or its licensors. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use course materials solely for your own personal study purposes.
You may not reproduce, redistribute, resell, share, publish, or otherwise make available any course materials to third parties, whether for commercial gain or otherwise, without our prior written consent. Any unauthorised use of our intellectual property may result in the immediate termination of your access without refund and may give rise to legal action.
Client Conduct
You agree to conduct yourself in a respectful and professional manner during all tutoring sessions and interactions with our staff. We reserve the right to terminate a tutoring session immediately, and to suspend or cancel a Client's access to our services without refund, in the event of abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate behaviour toward any tutor or member of staff.
Tutoring sessions may not be recorded by the Client without the prior written consent of the tutor.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, IB English Lang & Lit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss or damage arising from your use of our services, including but not limited to loss of examination grades, academic results, or outcomes. Our total liability to you in connection with any single service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for that specific service.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Data Protection and Privacy
We collect and process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). By using our services, you consent to the collection and use of your personal data as set out in our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website. We will not sell or share your personal data with third parties except where required to deliver the services you have purchased or where required by law.
Amendments to These Terms
We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The version in force at the time of your purchase or booking is the version that applies to that transaction. We encourage you to review these terms periodically. Continued use of our services following any amendment constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
